PORTFOLIO

Since the start of my BTEC ND in Fashion & Clothing, I have been lucky enough to have some great opportunities, experience and prizes along the way.

These include:

Creating a Paper Ticket dress for Style in the City in 2008 with four other students. Coverage from Birmingham Mail.

The first garment I had made at college, a little black dress inspired by the 60s, was shown on the college catwalk at the Clothes Show Live.

...

Work experience at Jacob Kimmie, along with working backstage at his static show at London Fashion Week A/W 2009, helping specifically on the final look of the collection.

...

After entering a competition in association with Style in the City, I was awarded with the 'Designer of the Future' prize, which meant that an illustration that I had created would be on 10,000 goodie bags for the event. Coverage from Birmingham Mail, ITV Central News, and Tamworth Herald.

...

In 2010 I entered another competition, for a Fashion Against Fur project. I did not win, but have been commended for my work, it will show at London Design Festival later on in the year.

Nearly at the end of my BTEC ND I teamed up with a fellow student and created a collection of 10 for our Final Major Project. After careful consideration we chose the four strongest pieces to show on the V.I.P college catwalk show. Style Birmingham (guests of the show) have selected this collection, along with others to show alongside designer collections at SITC.

A few days after finishing a BTEC ND in Fashion and Clothing, I moved to London for three weeks for an internship at TANK magazine. This included talking to press and designers, assisting stylists on shoots and general run around jobs. A truly great experience.
